little hanging spider…. (in progress)

(this is an update of the little spiders post)

I think I’m gonna name these smaller spiders after the real Latrodectus Mactans models that I used for the original. Therefore, this one shall be called Edna.

Welding on some legs…..

The two back legs are going to be cradling the thread the spider hangs from, so I’ve got to get all the other legs done first, to establish the balance.

I’ll probably git ‘er done tomorrow.

-more shpiders on the way……

Jon thank you for bringing us along in your art process, it is very facinating how you move from one level of the project to the next and you have invited me (us) to stand by your side and be an observer and in a sense to participate in the art world vicariously through this blog. I didn’t realize how much work goes into the development of a sculpture. I have often enjoyed the end result with out understanding really how much work goes into the project to get it to where I the Not-An-Artist enjoy the creation with out understanding the process of creation or knowing the mind of the creator.

    Thanks, sugarbear…
I’m trying to decide just how much of this process stuff I should include here. I hope that people will see this site, and develop a greater appreciation of the massive amount of work involved in creating bronze sculpture. I just don’t want to sacrifice artistic discussion for a technical forum….
    -thanks for the comments…
